Wine & Gastronomy

If you have never tried the grape varieties Callet, Manto Negro, Fogoneu, or Gorgollosa then you haven’t tried Mallorcan wines. Vine cultivation began on Mallorca after the Roman conquest, around 121 B.C. The Roman author and naturalist, Pliny the Elder, compared Balearic wines with the best of Italy, or so the story goes.

Most of Mallorca’s 80+ vineyards are family-run enterprises where everyone is dedicated in heart, mind, and spirit to the grapes. We source Mallorca's best wineries for an authentic wine experience. The vineyards are carefully worked and harvested by hand, and count with the widest diversity of native grape varieties.

Mallorca’s extra virgin olive oil, an indispensable ingredient in the Mediterranean diet, is one of the island’s premium products. The olive harvest begins in mid-October on the hillside terraces of mountain slopes and the lowland olive estates with four principal varieties: Mallorquin, Empeltre, Arbequina and Picual. Come with us to discover the world and the history of this liquid gold.
